Crafting Communication for Thomson Reuters plc
We were approached by Reuters to help communicate with their share plan participants throughout the Thomson acquisition. Timeframes were tight and the messaging was extremely complex. There were multiple plans and key dates to be observed, the situation was changing constantly and participants needed to understand their options and the impact of any decision they made.
We created a dedicated website which was regularly updated with the latest news and had a clear graphic to show progress. The site had plan specific details and we created calculators for each plan and territory that let the participants model the impact of their decision using live share price feeds.
A key part of the site was the dynamic FAQ section, where employees could submit questions to be answered by the share team. Where they were relevant to all employees, the answers were published on the site meaning it was a true reflection of the questions being asked by the audience.
We used our experience in share plan communication to turn very complex legal copy into something meaningful for plan participants. We also included elements of financial education to give them the tools to make informed decisions about what actions to take.
