"It's all about equipping them with the education, the support and the tools, so that they can feel empowered to go away and make a financial decision. Whether it's in the workplace, whether it's about their company benefits or whether it's about their own financial circumstances."

Crafting Communication for Orange

We have been working with Orange for several years, initially on their share plan communications and more recently looking at implementing financial education into the organisation.

They were keen to introduce financial education in the workplace in order to help their employees understand the true value of their benefits package. It needed to be flexible enough to deliver education and information across the whole business, to all employees. And not just at work, we needed employees to be able to access the programme at home, where they could discuss the issues and options with their families.

Initially we created a programme based around the France Telecom Purchase Incentive Plan, explaining the details of the plan and providing tools and education to help the employees understand the information and apply it to their own financial circumstances. It soon became clear that the solution needed to address more than share plans so we went back to the drawing board.

The answer was a bespoke financial education programme. We created an online, multimedia magazine with a range of articles about general personal finance and specific company benefits. With a new edition every two months we are able to gradually increase the levels of financial literacy across the organisation and reinforce the value of the overall benefits package.
